The Optimistic Cha Cha

all my life i have been doing the optimistic cha cha.
for those of you who are at this moment contorting your faces all puzzled-like, let me clarify.

i haven't always had this perspective that's for sure

but now that i do, how can i possibly be sad about doing the cha cha?

i mean really.

life isn't about being perfect all at once in everything.

the only perfection one can truly achieve is this:

                perfection in learning how to be imperfect.

once you can truly say that you are happy and grateful with your flaws and imperfections, at that moment you have truly embraced the definition of perfection

let that soak in for a second

funny huh?

lets expand

i accomplish tasks given to me best when i evaluate myself first, for example:
               if i'm asked to run a marathon, there is no way i could pick myself up and just go at it right then no matter how
               determined i am.
               i have to evaluate the situation
                    how good am i at running?
                    how long will it take for me to get good at running?
               then i take the steps to reach "perfection"
               that is if i want to.
               personally, i'm not up for running a marathon. i like to go on random jogs just for fun
               and to me, that's perfection enough.

perfection isn't the same for everybody. set goals for yourself and achieve them at your own pace
nobody can tell you you're not good enough
you are always good enough so long as you let yourself see it.

so what do ya say?

dear blog followers and internet surfers. i realize that i havent posted in a long time. i have had so much on my plate lately and the blog had just fallen behind in the priority list.
the weight on my shoulders has recently been lifted however, so expect a better blog experience from my end. haha hopefully i will be able to get a good long post out tomorrow, i have some good ideas.

i performed this in my ward talent show hoping to make it into the stake talent show, but because the limit per ward was two entries and our ward is massive i didnt make it in.
i wanted to post it ages ago but i kept forgetting and getting lazy and then i was sick and a whole bunch of other excuses. but yea, here she is!

Mormon Messages

lately i have been going through youtube surfing binges and they have included lots of mormon messages. i want to share with you a few of my favorites. each for different reasons, but all equally as thought provoking.

they've been given to us to help us grow and learn

some are intense gospel truths and experiences

some are wild adventures and service experiences.

but regardless of what those privileges may be

grab hold of them

and use them to their fullest

life in the city

passed by this on my way to work.. almost puked in my mouth.. looked so much scarier in person. the eastbound traffic was so bad.. the accident happened at like twelve thirty and i passed by it at about three. goodness gracious me!!! watch the video though, that's what it looked like when i drove by. miraculous that there were only minor injuries to the truck driver and nothing else to anyone in the other two vehicles. thank heavens.

so i worked a closing shift on saturday and i can not even begin to explain how busy it was.. like seriously... normally when you're closing the store and you have clothes to put away from fitting rooms you are allowed one single rack on each floor. well there were two FULL double racks and a single rack (and when i say full i mean like clothes falling off)... and we just barely squeezed out at eleven when we closed at nine. so i was out on go backs which, if you have been reading these posts regularly, you know is the job of putting all the clothes back on the floor after being tried on or thrown into random spots in the store by customers in a blind rush (HATE this). but anyways. the way it works in my store no matter how busy or slow the day is, the second floor go backs are always harder to handle. and that is exactly where i was this saturday. i almost swore out loud it got so bad. yea guys i know. bad. there was still chaos in dundas square when i walked out of the square closer to eleven thirty. 

i stopped to watch this guy though in the video posted above. he is crazy good. the video is of him making the painting below with only spray paints... the picture beneath that one is where his inspiration came from.. but seriously look at it!! i wish i had talent like that!!

and now were down to just pictures of Toronto life. only a few because i have been so busy with work :)

curling iron love

so i have been trying to find a good cheap curling iron after watching this curling tutorial...

i have always used a flat iron to curl my hair, but because of this i decided to try something new. i had previously had curling irons that didnt work at all because my hair is really quite hard to curl. its long, thick, and pin straight... ugh i hate it sometimes.

but anyways so today i decided to venture to my local walmart (yes yes i do still appreciate their prices) in search of a good cheap curling iron, because every other store i ventured into had either no selection or was waaaayyy too pricey. **on a side note all of the curling and straightening and blow drying appliances are on the top shelf at this walmart.. makes things a lot harder to handle.. stupid walmart** i looked around and found two decent looking 1" curling irons. i had my nieces help me find a check price scanner and each of them scanned one. one turned out to be under $10..... k ya not happening, a bit too cheap thanks walmart. so i settled for this one:

this is the Infiniti by Conair tourmaline ceramic 1" curling iron

the packaging promises 30 second heat, easy slide curling, good long lasting curl and all that good stuff. so i got home and tried it out. i took a small piece from the front and curled it, held it for like five seconds and let it out. perfect barrel curl. now thats not the look i want so i brushed it out a bit. it got better but it was still pretty tight. i decided to take the curl out by wetting it with a comb. i did. it stayed. it loosened the way i wished it had by brushing it, but this means that the curl is gonna hold! YAY!! i recommend this curling iron so far to others. i will try and post tomorrow about it as i will be using it to curl my hair for church. i might even post pictures of before and after meetings and stuff. but anyways im super happy with the purchase. (ps this iron was a mere $30, which is fantastic for good styling products)

i just love this little man... so cute. today when i left the room to go quick get something while i left him with his momma he started making noises and pointing towards the door i walked out of... aaaaawe, it took a week but hes loving me all over again :) Nolan <3

I Heart Nolan

So this little guy is my nephew. when he does something wrong or something bad happens he makes this surprised face and goes "uhoh!!" and oh my goodness i think it is simply the cutest thing... hes so adorable!!! hes also going through a super cute phase where he makes a cute scrunchy face all the time. his momma gave him the harmonica to play today and she told him to blow, but all he ended up doing every time was scrunching his face and blowing out his nose... bahahaha sooooo cute coming from a one year old... my goodness i love the boy. hes simply adorable. i cant help but kiss him and hold him and play with him. 

he's also very tech savy ;)

in case you didnt notice from the above video and him running for my phone hahaha he loves to push buttons. anything with a button on it, or even anything electronic, he knows whats what, and he will try anything to get his hands on it. well except throw a fit. hes really a happy baby :) i just love him

bahahaha one of the girls favorite things to do before bed time is dress Nolan up in their clean clothes and put clips in his hair. hahah he just loves the attention. pretty sure its harmless. hes adorable either way!!

and he simply adores popcorn. pretty sure ive mentioned that, but its worth mentioning in this post considering its dedicated to this adorable hunk of burnin love!!

in other news though it is getting harder to be away from friends back west.. a lot harder than i thought it would. well actually no, i knew it would be particularly hard in some cases, i just hoped it would hit me later.. dangit maddie....

oh my goodness..... ok i just finished watching a reeeeallly good movie!!!!!
its called "my girlfriend's boyfriend" and it was released in 2010. i kinda just watched it for fun cuz it looked dumb and i wanted a laugh. but its so good!!!!! and there is an unexpected twist in the end!! WATCH IT

Country Music

hey there everybody :) so here i am. chillin in starbucks, jammin to some country, and i figured i would profess to you my love for it. anybody who knows me really well knows that i have an undying love for country music.
yea it can get to the point where there is too much twang, but i mean hey everything else just makes me weak in the knees! the deep rumbly voice of a good male country singer.... yea that's right, your ears just perked up. i cant even put it into words. i was surfin the tube yesterday and i found a new country artist. his name is blaine larsen.... ok guys he looks to be maybe sixteen tops. his voice sounds like that of someone in their thirties.. daaaannng gina sooo nice!!!! (side note: i just indulged in a caramel salted hot chocolate, YUM!!!)

in the video it makes reference to him being about eighteen. ok i can sorta see that, but dang that voice!! i almost like him more than scotty mccreery! and that's sorta a big deal lol. dang i love me some country.. I'm a sap for love songs too and country is known for its generally high level of emotion haha. i also love george canyon. he has an amazing voice, and some fantastic songs. for example "I want you to live ". i love that song. brings tears to my eyes almost every time... but then again a lot of things make me cry haha dang it... I'm a cry baby. but not in a bad wy..? haha idk, its the way i am and i love who i am so im ok with it :). aaannd just to name a few more i love aaron prichett, rascal flatts, miranda lambert, blake shelton, lady antebellum, gloriana and maaaanny many more :) COUNTRY <3 i could go on for a lot longer, but i wont bore you :) later!! :)
