after all is said and done

so I'm pretty sure most of you don't know about my newest crush. its pretty recent so i don't blame you. but i mean hey if there is good news about boys I'm gonna spill. so here it goes.
for privacy reasons i will not reveal his actual name, but we will call him.... hmm whats a good name?? bahahaha we will call him Bo. yes i googled good guy names. no judging. but ANYWAYS. so i have a crush on Bo. i knew him from church before i moved to Alberta. never really had any interest in him back then because lets face it, anybody who is older or younger than you is groooooossssss when you're little. Bo came home from his mission in the Philippines pretty much the exact time i moved back to Ontario :D meant to be perhaps?? hahahaha jk jk idk :)
anyways so here's the story. his first Sunday back was general conference. we just happened to be visiting my sister's in-laws that day and they are in the same ward. i went hoping he would be there to be honest with you, even though i didn't know what to expect. well he was there alright haha and i was nervous. i happened to be wearing my brand new neon pink pumps which had to be intimidating (he told me later that in fact i was intimidating being just a sliver taller than him in the heels, but then he reassured me with a "who knows maybe i dig tall girls" hahaha) but we talked a bit that day and that was it. my interest was sparked and i only hoped it was mutual (still hoping hah). we have tried a couple of times since then to hang out and failed due to bad circumstances and really bad timing. Friday night institute even got the cold shoulder a couple times. twas tough.
finally i decided i needed to be a tad more vicious to get any time with Bo. he invited me to spend family home evening with his ysa family one Monday and i wasn't able to make it due to a lack of transportation that late at night. so when i learnt that my sister had doctor's appointments for her kids in my old home town, i called and asked someone to cover my closing shift for that day (even though i had asked just the day before for more shifts... haha oops)
so the plan was that i would go in with Megan and she would drop me off at my old high school to visit my old vocal teacher. well what do ya know it was a pd day.... hahaha oh ok that's convenient. so i started walking around town, some things familiar and some things new. i stopped at an old second hand store and bought a fantastic dress!!!!! (oh ps it's a size 6... and it fits me like a glove!!!! i used to be a size eight nine!!!! YAY) its a Julian Taylor from New York and i love it. its got bright yellow purple and green florals and its shaped like this
there is a thick strap going from the tops of my shoulders that buttons in the middle and the front is just a boat neck. it makes me look so thin!!!
i kept walking until i got to the mall and walked around. i got some great shoes too. except i cant find a picture... they are blush pink open toed wedges and they have an ankle strap. sooooo cute. here they are :)
they look more like a nude heel but they are pink... <3

ok so at this point it is about one thirty. i am supposed to be meeting Megan and value village to discuss arrangements and rides home etc. (keeping in mind she doesn't have a cell phone so i cant just call her if she doesn't show up) i start walking and stop at pizza hut on the way cuz I'm starved. i get to value village and figure I've got time so i pick up a book and pop a squat on the couch. three o clock rolls around and i get up and look around for Megan. three thirty. nope. ok whatever maybe she was held up at her doctors appointment. ill keep reading. four o clock. still no Megan. five o clock. nothing. at this point i call my mother to see if the has the house number for her in laws since i figured they would be there if anything by now. turns out she came and walked around and looked for me. i guess i was too caught up in the book to notice.
so i inform Megan that i have made plans to stay over night at a family friends' house to avoid complications of a late night ride back home. she drives me over and i wait for Bo to text me back with arrangements to make it to his place for family home evening. he tells me his mom is on her way to pick me up and I'm thinking "crap this lady hasn't seen me in over four years... this is gonna be awkward" but guess what... IT WASN'T!!! WIN. we totally talked the whoooole time. and its a decently long car ride.
so then we get to the house and my heart is beating sooooo fast. i get downstairs and i can sorta feel my face start to flush red. the night goes on and there is a lesson taught. then Bo asks who wants to challenge him in Foosball. immediately the girl that was sitting across from me shouts "Maddie does" and I'm kinda like "crap she noticed... it it obvious...?? :/" but i don't even care cuz I'm pretty much on cloud nine at this point. but i can see how she might have noticed now that I'm thinking of it. lets pause and discuss--- throughout the night I'm pretty sure we exchanged flirty glances and i couldn't help but smile or giggle at everything he says (he is actually hilarious so this isn't crazy) and every tine either of these things happened i can feel myself blush. but i am past the point of caring because i don't even notice anyone else in the room.---unpaused. as the night went one he kept flirting. jabbing me with the Foosball pegs on purpose, faking high fives. just the small stuff that i honestly could be looking to far into. but oh well :) I'm happy and that's a great thing.
sooooooooo after all is said and done, even though so many things went wrong, it was a perfect day :). and that is my story :) i hope you liked it!! cuz i did ;) night all!!

excuse me????

so today when i woke up thinking today would be a day like any other. sleep, get up, get ready, do makeup (because its sunday) and get on with it. but unfortunately things took a slight turn. my routine went normally through the getting dressed and doing my hair, but then half way through doing my makeup something odd happened....
i started to sneeze uncontrollably. dangit.. (and just by coincidence only seconds before my first sneeze someone randomly rang our doorbell but looked out the window nobody was there) so anyways this sneezing goes on for several minutes. and im about to scream at my left nostril for getting so disgustingly runny. (GROSS) And then i realize, i have just developed allergies.... crap... i have never had allergy season hit me. like ever. yea maybe i sneeze a little but that happens year long. no i have developed allergies to something down in southern ontario, and i gotta say i am not pleased. as i write my head is beginning to pound and i didnt eve3n realize that was a symptom. crap man. this blows. (Hah i made a funny)
but yea. i have allergies. greeeat. reactine anyone? yes please....

in other news i have decided i am going to try hair chalking. it has been a fad for quite some time now and i was planning on going on a spree at Michaels anyways due to my severe withdrawal from the making of all things crafty... mmmmmm yep. i need to craft
recently i have been obsessed with that layered bracelet look. so these are the ones i am going to attempt once i get my hands on some supplies :)
simple braid with seed beads and a button clasp

woven wrap bracelets with the same type of clasp :)

a little more chunky, but still a seed bead braid. this one is more for a fancy look

and THESE!! i have to find some gold nicnaks to do this with!!!!

and i kinda miss my momma's sewing machine :( or else i would attempt this.
but oh well!!! hah happy crafting to me anyways :)
later everybody

Dedicated to every girl out there who has been there before. which is a whole lot of us. I changed the lyrics to better suit my situation. And yea I'm probably going to look back and regret posting this, but phooey, its my life, and this is how i feel. you're gonna have to deal, comprende?

"She Will Be Loved" - Maroon 5

Beauty queen of only eighteen
She had some trouble with herself
He was always there to help her
[He] always belonged to someone else

I drove for miles and miles
And wound up at your door
I've [let go] so many times but somehow
I want more

I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
She will be loved

Tap on my window knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful
I know [you] tend to get so insecure
It doesn't matter anymore

It's not always rainbows and butterflies
It's compromise that moves us along, yeah
My heart is full and my door's always open
You can come anytime you want

I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved

[Don't] know where you hide
[Or why you're so far]
[Or] all of the things that make you who you are
I know that goodbye means nothing at all
Come- back and [let] me - catch [you] every time [you] fall-

Tap on my window knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful

I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved

[in the background]
[Though I've tried] so hard to say goodbye
[Though I've tried] so hard to say goodbye

Yeah
[softly]
I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain

Try so hard to say goodbye

night all.

Don't Hate. Appreciate.

Hey there fellas. so today has kinda been full of being under appreciated. and im a bit down. so im gonna blog about it. cuz blogging always makes me feel better. So if you have been keeping up with me i work in retail. i have for almost two years now. and it has lead me to believe at least one thing. this being:

if you havent worked in retail in your life, get out there and do it.

your eyes will be opened to the world of crabby customers and refolding the same two tee shirts for the umpteenth time. I have always been kind to retailers (not perfect, but i made an effort to be as polite and helpful as i could), but i never realized how much it helped until i was on the other end of the stick.
today at work i was in one of the biggest and messiest sections in the entire store. its a high traffic area because a lot of the items are basics and most people are out to buy them. so there was a rack of tee shirts that just kept falling off the bar -pause- you know how a rack can get too full, and even the slightest shove can send the clothes rocketing to the floor? ya, but this rack wasnt even full.... -un pause- and i got to the point where i gave up on them. and if i saw the pile on the floor when walking by, i would roll my eyes and make an angry face.
so like an hour later i picked them up and hung them on a different rack in an attempt to regain my posture and not be so crabby about it. it worked. but that is besides the point. the point is that nobody cared but me. because its "my job" to care. ya whatever thats a load. yes its my job to clean u[ and make sure you have the most pleasant and smooth shopping experience, but let me ask you something else:

have you ever once stopped to think 'hmm, i wonder how many unhappy customers that sales associate has dealt with' or 'i wonder if folding this shirt properly will make a difference'

answers??? probably countless... and YES!!!! now that i have worked in retail, every time i see someone pick up something whether they have dropped it or not, and whether it is in my store or not, i feel the sudden urge to get on my knees and scream THANKYOU YOU'RE AMAZING. but how would they know they are really making a difference until they have experienced the stress of it all.
dont get me wrong i love my job. but its days like these that i simply wish everybody understood what it was like to have so much expected and receive pennies in return. so if you are one of those people who goes out of their way to help out in your favorite store, on behalf of everyone who works retail and sales THANKYOU!!

and then there is the under appreciation from someone you care about. have you ever wished that someone could understand just how much you truly love them? how far you would go just to make them happy? how sad you get when they scrape their knee or break a bone? because i do almost every day. sometimes i feel so under appreciated. sometimes i feel like my relationships with people are so one sided. i try so hard to make everyone happy and i give all ive got, and at the end of the day i am sitting in my comfy chair blogging about it. it just hurts underneath the happy face i wear.

this is a classic. so old. but i have sung it countless times ever since i can remember. enjoy!

so that is my rant for today. appreciate anybody who cares enough to show it. night all.
